Remembering Davy Jones

It has been three years since the sudden and tragic passing of Davy Jones. In his honor, I am re-posting the link to my tribute to him on the Oldies Connection blog, which first went online on March 5, 2012. Davy, we will never forget you and the joy you brought to us all.

On Wednesday, February 29, 2012, the music world suffered a tragic loss when ’60s teen idol Davy Jones died suddenly from a massive heart attack. He was 66 years old. A dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, Jones was residing in Indiantown, Florida at the time of his death.

Lesley Gore Dies at 68

Lesley Gore

Singer-songwriter Lesley Gore, who scored a massive hit in 1963 with “It’s My Party,” died Monday. She was 68.

Gore’s partner of 33 years, Lois Sasson, told the Associated Press that she died of cancer at the New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan.
