Who am I?

I’m a writer and author, an oldies fanatic, a dreamer. I’m majorly into oldies music, comedy, reading, writing, the Internet, and the Law of Attraction. My first novel, THE D.A.’s FOREVER, is available on Amazon.com (click on the title to visit the official website for the book). Also check out LauraPinto.com for links to all of my sites and social network pages.

Laura’s Oldies Sites, as its name implies, has links to all of the oldies-related websites and communities I manage.

Last, but by no means least, please visit Oldies Connection, my one-stop-shopping place (as I refer to it) for the latest on your favorite singers and groups from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.

  1. Great shock to hear of my old mate Kris’ death. We did a lot together as teenagers but lost contact for a long time until about two years ago. I am a little confused by the date given as Kris’ birthday. He was in my year at grammar school, and I am quite sure he was born on 16th June 1941, which would make him 72 last June, the same age as myself. Can you tell me if Kris was married? I always thought that he wed a lovely lady named Joan who we used to travel with on the same bus after school. If there are any family I would like to be able to express my sympathy to them. Thank you

    • Hello Brian,
Thank you for visiting my page and commenting. I was heartbroken to hear of Kris’s passing. We’d become friendly through mutual acquaintances. One of these, a nice lady named Rosemarie, was a dear friend of Kris and his wife, as well as Kris’s webmaster. Here’s a link to her website if you’d like to get in touch with her regarding contact info for the family: http://www.craftweb.org/
P.S. I learned of the birthday discrepancy after publishing my post but decided to leave it for now, as the year of 1946 was the one Kris was using. 🙂

      • Many thanks for the info, I will be getting in touch with Rosemarie and hopefully Kris’ family to offer my condolences. Again, many thanks. Kind regards, Brian.

  2. Hello! I am a lifelong vinyl record collector and I have a rare find I am researching. It is a hand made 78rpm record album made by Bob Crewe himself. It has signed 78s and 2 45s and is listed out in printed lettering by Bob himself. On the cover is a matte heavy stock publicity head shot and the inscription “For John. Keep Swingin’ Dad” -Bob
I bought this in a flea market in Waterford Michigan about five years ago. Any info you could provide on this John’s identity or contacts [his brother Dan…] would be appreciated.I am also emailing the various songwriting partners listed on his Wikipedia page. Thanks. Robert B.
